The Benchmade 527 series has a 440C blade. The drop point blade featured ambidextrous thumb-studs. The handles are textured Noryl GTX (tough and lightweight!) over a steel frame. The 527 line has the AXIS lock system which makes the knife easier (and faster) to open and close. The pocket clip can be reversed for right or left handers. Over all this is an excellent knife with a good feel and weight- something you could trust your life with.
