Klim Covert GTX Liners with Socks Size 9 Black Review

A $100.00 dollars is alot of money for socks, but if you want dry feet these are the way to go. I ride dirt bikes for an average of 3 hours a trip, in 30 degree weather. The water holes reach over the fenders so your guranteed to get wet on every trip. The water pools in my FOX boots but can't reach my socks. Even when submurged the elastic band at the top of the socks won't allow water in. The water will never touch your feet again! They are a little tight at the top of the calf but the elastic band is meant to hold the water out. The only downside is when your feet sweat they can get awfully cold. The liners come with inner socks and a carry bag.

Update 5-8-2012 The socks and liners have seen the worst of riding in Washington state in the winter. They have held up well and show no frays or areas of damage after 9 rides. Still impressed with the socks and liners. The last ride I forgot where the trail forked and went right instead of left, big mistake. A water hole swallowed me and my 2006 Yamaha. There was water up to my bars and I was soaked at the start of a very long ride. But guess what...my feet were dry as can be, nothing else was but my feet were good to go. Theres nothing else out there that can compare. Highly recommend, would buy again, will buy for my friends come christmas time.

Sherwood Elite Open Heel Pocket Fin (Ice Blue, Large) Review

These fins are great. I loved the stretchable silicone heel strap as it makes donning and doffing easier while maintaining a hold on the fin. As with any non-adjustable strap such as Stainless steel spring straps fit is extremely important. Sherwood has a sizing chart on their website and I advise everyone to use this.

My shoe size is 13 with a width of EE/2E, I use these fins with size 13 hard sole boots. I bought the XL size and the fit is absolutely perfect.

These fins are noticeably lighter than my split fins which makes them good for traveling. The are also great at alternate kicks such as frog kicks. If its speed you're looking for splits may be better as they are easier on your legs but for thrust in currents these blade fins are excellent. I would definitely recommend these to new divers or anyone wanting a pair of good all round fins for scuba or snorkeling.

If you understand that this comes from the southern hemisphere and that the South end of the needle will stand high then this is an excellent bargain. To fix the needle you need to simply remove the steel ring holding the protective glass in place, remove the glass and slide the copper balancing wire out toward the south end of the needle. You may have to file the steel ring shorter in order to replace it. In all other respects the compass works perfectly. For such a small price you get a really well made compass. This model does not have a vernier scale or a percent gradient scale but unless you plan on using it with a tripod you won't miss the vernier.

This type of compass is most often used for strike and dip for geology measurement. It is a little heavy for hiking and without a protractor would not be the compass of choice for general map locating.
