Women's illumiNITE Aspira Jacket, LIGHT BLUE, 2XL Review

I have been wearing the men's version of this jacket for about two years now, i replaced the zipper, patched pieces, resealed the seams and now I will use the illuminite fabric in some sort of project.

I did seek out this jacket again, because it was stylish, not super "sporty" but it served the sport function. Only the Women's sizes were available, and I will say that the 2XL is about a Women's 14. I'm a solid 18, and I squeeze into it because of some stretch, but a little more room (or honesty in sizing) would have been ideal. While I'm not entirely into the sort of floral reflective pattern, its grown on me, and I do like the more bloused cuffs. I love the reflective quality and even had friends note the reflectivity when walking into a dimly lit bar... which tells me a lot about the quality of the safety element.

The zippers used are miserable, and will be replaced by a tailor soon, but because of this, the pockets are unusable. There are also no internal pockets, like on the mens jacket -- what, women don't carry keys or a tiny ipod?

One should also keep in mind, that while this jacket is light weight, it is actually very warm, and the arms don't really breathe. This new version has a back-vent which may help... but the arms were always the trouble on the previous version. I wore the jacket in combination with a sweatshirt and rode through a new-england winter with it... it never made it to summer or even late spring.

The department only authorized a few brands of holsters. This was one of them. I hated it at first, the finger guard kept digging into my side while driving. I would also get my fingers caught in the thing and kept mistaking it for the release switch. So I took it off. Could not be happier.
