The department only authorized a few brands of holsters. This was one of them. I hated it at first, the finger guard kept digging into my side while driving. I would also get my fingers caught in the thing and kept mistaking it for the release switch. So I took it off. Could not be happier. I know I know, its supposed to keep it in and unwanted, unsavory people from taking your gun. Well, my old level 3 safariland did not have that stoopid finger guard and it served me well in a great many wrestling matches. Most of the consumer Reviews tell that the "Safariland 6360 Level III ALS Retention Duty Holster, Mid-Ride, Black, STX Plain, Glock 37 (Left Hand)" are high quality item.
