I use these at low tide on the mud flats near my house. They are extremely durable against the forces of rocks, shells and barnacles and numerous sharp and potentially dangerous pieces of marine trash (crushed rusty wire lobster pots). The soles are great for traction on hard and soft surfaces. They keep you feet really warm, even while under some pretty cold water [think New England Atlantic].

The best part for me is the cuff around the top make a nice seal around my calf. I can actully submerge the whole boot with evry little leakage into the boot because of the seal. This is what sets these boots apart from Wellies.

Just bought the bag and have now been using it for a week. I won't say that I absolutely love the bag and in some ways it actually has disappointed me. But I have it three because it fullfill about 70% of my requirements.

But, before I head on to the actual review of the bag let me share with you what I use the bag for and what is important for me in a bag. I generally travel over 30 weeks in a year and often internationally.
Hence I am in and out of the airport a lot. I wanted a bag which would

a. Looks professional
b. Had enough space to put all I wanted in an organised way.
c. Light weight and comfortable to carry.

I usuall carry the following in my bag: -

Always in my bag...
1. My 15inch IBM Thinkpad
2. Charger : Iphone, Ipad, Laptop
3. Webcam
4. Two large note books.
5. My passport, and travel cards
6. A toilette kit with toothpaste, deo, mouth wash and some hand lotion (I travel internationally a lot so need it after long flights)
7. My sun glasses
8. A pack of 50 - visiting cards
9. Bose Noise cancelling headphone
10. My house & car keys
11. Bottle of water

Occasionally, I'll carry
11. A neck pillow when I fly.
12. A Mac book air.

I wanted a bag which could fit all the above items. I also like to keep my items segregated based on how often I access them and how fragile they are. So it's important that the bag has amlot of pockets. For example, I will keep my passport in a separate pocket to protect it and keep it hidden away.

My budgets for the bag was around 200$.
I researched a lot of bags, before I decided on this one.
1. Thule 32L Crossover.
2. Boa Flow
3. Samsonite Pro 3 laptop Backpack
4. Brenthaven - a bit pricy.
5. Ivar Pilot Backpack

What I like about the bag.

1. There are a lot of pockets. More pockets that most bags.

1a. There are 2 side pockets on each side. i.e. 4 in total, all of them have zippers.
The ones on the bottom have mesh (see through) and can store a bottle of water when un zipper. These pockets are not too large. i.e. they are big enough to store a passport with not enough depth to store a laptop charger. I use one for my passport and the other for my Ipad and Iphone charger.

1b. Then there are three pockets in front of the bag, one main compartment and another one on the top to keep your sunglasses.

2. Quality of Zippers is good, which is very is what gives away in most bags. They are big and hence are less likely to jam

3. The size of the bag is enough to put everything that I mentioned above.

4. The quality of the workmanship is great. You can say it looks expensive, and sporty.

What I do not like about the bag:-

1. Too much padding:- I know padding is important in a bag, but I think RSS has overdone it. The RSS feature (padding) in the bag, which cannot be removed which makes it heavier and making it looks bigger bloated up compared to the actual space it offers.

2. The side wall and the back of the bag are rigid. The bad is rigid because of a thick plastic sheet and a whole lot of padding. I think it is unnecessary and adds considerable weight to the bad.

3. The shoulder straps have probably the least amount of padding I have seen. It is ok if you have a light bag and carrying it for 15 minutes. However, if you have a full bag and walking from one terminal to another on Chicago internationally airport, you can feel it digging into your shoulders.

UPDATE ( 23th Sep '12)
I have now owned the bag for a couple of months and have travelled for work to Europe and Asia.
There are two issues that I find negative about the backpack...

1. It is heavy ! It is atleast 2 times as heavy as other packpacks with similar capacity. When you are moving around the airport, you can feel it digging into ur shoulders. Reason why it weighs so much is because it is very heavily padded, so match that it is over done.

2. The buckles which control the extension of the straps is loose. It will automatically extend to the fullest extension, if you generally carry you backpack on one strap. What is even more annoying is that when it is fully extended, it takes a while to tighten it.

These are the two reason, why after using the backpack for 2 months, I am giving up and moving to some lighter ones..

From the same company that makes the terrific "Newport H2" sandal with the super natural "metaomical design" fit. The Keen Targhee is like wearing a Humvee for your feet. It with waterproof construction for dry feet and an agressive outsole with 4 millimeter lugs that bite deep into the terrain for excellent traction. And they have the famous Keen toe bumper.

It is very waterproof as I can attest to. The waterproof leather upper helps keep feet dry on rainy days and muddy trails. It has an interior waterproof liner bootie too. The special carbon rubber outsoles are similar to the ones on the Keen Sandals, very grippy and non-marking, and they never seem to show any wear. They are multi-directional and dig in, but are not slippery on wet surfaces like rocks or cement in rain or surf. They come in few colors, but the colors have weird names. "Shadow" is an olive for example.

It has a good secure fit laceup capture system that do not come untied like my other tennies did. THe straps have a little reflective feature to them. Htey have a nice pull-on strap at the heel. They are light in weight at only 14 ounces for the pair. On sizing, I reccommend buying one full size larger than usual.

WORX WG308 6-Inch 5-Amp Electric JawSaw with Extension Handle Review

I bought the JawSaw after I saw the infomercial because I had some trees at our restaurant and in our yard that I wanted to trim. I already have a chain saw, but I was attracted to the extension pole as a means of reaching branches that I couldn't reach with my current chain saw. I figured the $149 purchase price was a reasonable investment because it was less than the tree trimmer would charge me.
The JawSaw seems to be well-constructed and is able to cut through branches that are up to 4 inches thick. Unlike a standard chain saw which has an exposed blade, the JawSaw protects the user from potential harm by recessing the saw inside the jaws. The cutting ability is limited to a 4-inch cut because of the fixed size of the jaw opening. I also used the JawSaw to cut through tree roots that were exposed at ground level. However, the JawSaw is surprisingly heavy, despite the fact that it is electric and has no gas tank. This is especially true if the extension pole is used. I work out with weights regularly, yet my shoulders were very sore for 2 days after using the JawSaw to trim just 2 large trees. In fact, I elected to wait until the following weekend to trim the other trees.
Another shortcoming in the design is the need to pull on the shaft and push on the handle to make the saw move/slice through the opening of the jaw opening. You don't really see this in the infomercial. This required action is difficult and reduces the actual reach (with or without the extension pole) because one hand needs to be on the shaft grip, which cuts down substantially on the overall reach. Lastly, because of the location of the motor and jaw structure, it is difficult and cumbersome to make neat cuts in tight spaces within the tree.
Overall, I would recommend the product but only with the understanding of its design shortcomings.

Before this watch came on to the market, I had looked at other GPS watches from time to time, but they generally seemed too big/bulky and expensive. This is the first moderately priced GPS watch with the features I was looking for. I have been using it for 1 week and am happy to say that it operates as advertised. It is lightweight, not too bulky, and starts/stops with the push of one button. The main face is preset to display run time and total distance, but you can toggle to a second screen to see your pace. The watch notifies you as you complete each mile, and displays your average pace for the mile as well as your average pace at the end of your run. You can also set the watch for run/walk intervals, or use the "virtual pacer" to notify you if you are running slower or faster than your desired pace.

Battery life may be a big issue if you want to use the watch outside of running, but I have just used it during runs, and recharged while connecting to Garmin's website to download my run stats, so it hasn't been an issue for me. If you are looking for a basic GPS watch that tracks how far and how fast, this is a great choice! Note that it will not monitor your heart rate, so if that feature is important to you, you should like at a higher end version.

Brooks Womens Adrenaline GTS 13 Running Shoes Color: DrkDenim/Wht/BachlorBttn/Slvr Size: 9.0 Review

I have been running in Brooks Adrenaline for a few years now; I have tried the 11s, 12s, and now the 13s. After the 11s, I needed to go up half a size because it seemed like the shoe got smaller. I ordered the same size 13s as 12s (8.5, regular width) and I really like them. It seems like Brooks may have included a bit more arch support in this newer version (or maybe it just feels that way because all the cushioning is gone in my 12s?) and I can always use more arch support. They are not quite as bright/neon as I would have liked, but I'm really glad to have a shoe not in pink or purple or the boring blue. All around, a very well done shoe.
