I have only watched the beginner DVD so far. These DVDs are quite expensive, but worth it since they have great menus, production values, explanations, camera angles etc. But there is nothing on how to launch your kite on your own without help in any of the DVDs. There are 2 cases, on a sandy beach where you can launch it from the beach, or from a shelly/rocky beach where you have to transfer the kite to the water without tangling lines then do a water launch (water relaunches are covered). I consider these to be MAJOR omissions. However what is covered is so clear and detailed that I would still definitely recommend the DVD.

The section on water relaunching is very misleading. It says to have the bar upside down as well as the kite. If you do this, you must pull the back line across your body. They do not make this clear. They say "Pick up the back line on the side of the bar that you want the kite to move towards. Pull and hold this line". If you do this without crossing the line over to the other side, you are in for a lot of frustration and crashing kites, as happened to me. If you watch the guy he does it correctly but the bar is underwater and it's hard to see. It is more straightforward just to have the bar the correct way up.
