Okay, so Norwegians know how to make lefse, they know how to cross country ski, they make very cool sweaters, have a cool national flag......and they know how to make knives! (This was a mild attempt at humor - as we know Norway and Norwegians excel at almost everything they do). This "Bear" knife from Brusletto has a unique handle that fits your hand so well - that it would make skinning a game animal or cutting steak in your kitchen an absolute joy. I guess it's the ergonomics of it or something - it just feels awesome in your hand.
The blade is sharp as new, but I was also able to put an even sharper edge on it - the knife accepted a nice edge very well. The sheath that comes with the knife is okay, but like most knives today - the sheath is sort of a "throw away".
If you're looking for a unique gift for Father's Day, or your Dad's birthday - a knife from this not-so-well-known knife maker would be a neat idea. Especially if your family is of Norwegian descent.
