RIP-IT 2013 Prototype Senior (-8.5) Baseball Bat, 30in 21.5oz Review

Bought the bat with high expectations due to reviews from other internet outlets. Shipping was quick and bat came in a nice protected double box. Finish on bat was nice and the grip was very nice. This bat is for my Son playing 14U. Bat had excellent pop from the first swing. Was very impressed. Had the bat for 2 weeks, took it to the cages 3 times using only good baseballs. Didn't have any problems. During our first practice I was throwing coach pitch and his bat literally broke in two. I've never seen a metal bat break in two before. Thanks to the 30/400 day warranty I shipped the bat back and received a replacement. So far been through two batting sessions and has excellent pop. Per RIP-IT they have less than 2% of this particular model returned so it's possible I received a lemon. I rated a 3 (possibly should have rated lower) because the bat broke in two. If this new/replacement bat stays in one piece I'll come back and rate higher.
5/26 Update: My Son has now gone through three of these Senior bats. As stated above the 1st one literally broke in two. The barrel wall caved in on the 2nd one, and the third one had two dents in it after it's first game. This is too bad because the pop off the bat is amazing. I guess to get that pop they sacrifice longevity. To put this into perspective let me state that my Son is 5'4" and weighs 114lbs. I do not recommend this bat for any pitching, say 60+ mph. For what it's worth Rip-It has been extremely good about their warranty. My most recent encounter they offered my money back, I asked if they would ship me a BBCOR bat instead. They said yes; however sent me another Senior bat instead. I called them back, they insisted I keep the Senior bat and will send me a BBCOR as well. I'm 99% sure the Senior will fail again (I can't be the only one this is happening too); however optimistic about the BBCOR Air.
