It's a two-density composite that has a high-density cradle for the heel and is covered with an anti-bacterial treatment. The Avenir has a Micro Vent tongue, a perforated pad with a wicking, anti-bacterial covering.The Mavic Avenir Shoes come in sizes 6 - 13.5 in whole and half sizes. I've used this shoe for two years. The one issue that I've found with it was that it didn't have enough arch support for me. I bought a pair of "Black" Super Feet inserts and now the shoes are extremely comfortable. I've done rides as long as 3 hours and have had no problems with hot spots. The velcro adjustments are adequate enough to adjust for your entire foot form. The latch closure has been trouble free. Would buy again. Good shoes.
