If you are not familiar with 'softshell', you're in for a treat. I bought my first for riding my bicycle at temps from 38 to 64(F). With the neck zippered up, the sleeves clinched down, and the waist strings pulled....it is very wind-proof as well as water repellent. It is hard to notice you are even wearing anything. The sleeves are very long and don't pull up. There are several zippered pockets for a phone or sunglasses. (On the cold days I wear a Polartech thermal top under it. On the warmer days, just a tee shirt.)This is my second one, and I bought it just for casual wear and I use the first just for working out in. It is very thin, about 1/8", but the hi-tech materials can't be compared to others that are that thin. It is very 'broken-in' when brand new.
Important notes; #1 This jacket fits quite 'close' like your suit coat. I mean if you zip it up and pull out at mid-chest, it is about the same as a suit coat. This is part of the design. #2. This coat will not keep you warm if you are standing still for an hour at 40 (F). It is made for outdoor activities.
