Sartego Women's SPQ95-R Ocean Master Japanese Quartz Movement Watch Review
Initially gave this watch 4 stars:Bought this watch for a snorkeling vacation and it performed really well, despite frequent water immersion. Especially impressive since several time changes had required me to unscrew the crown (the old "winding" mechanism) and reset the time on at least four occasions. (This frequently causes water resistant watches to begin to take in water, and diminishes their accuracy.) So far, it's kept perfect time.
The reasons for not giving it 5 stars are 1) the lack of contrast between the face and the hands makes it not quite as instantly readable as I'd like, for example in dim light or under water, 2) the rotating bezel was occasionally somewhat difficult to rotate, 3) it's not particularly luminous, as claimed, and 4) the "extra" length on the band -- the section that extends past the buckle when it's on your wrist -- doesn't stay in the 'loops' provided to keep it contained. The 'loops' slide off too easily, leaving the extra part of the band free to snag on anything around.
To me these are fairly minor complaints; you'll have to assess their importance to you. They do not make me hesitant to recommend the watch, although in hindsight I'd have ordered it with a black face in hopes that the light hands would make it easier to read.
Reduced rating to 3 stars after about a month:
The crystal cracked and chipped after the watch was dropped onto a tile floor. Granted, it shouldn't have been dropped, but here's the important point: the crystal sits higher than the surrounding bezel, meaning the bezel does not protect it in any way. Any moderately rough contact can damage the crystal and render the watch unreadable or useless.
