I'm a police academy cadet carrying an SP2022 in .40 S&W as my duty weapon. I purchased this holster to fulfil the Level 3 security requirement for our duty holsters and was told personally by Safariland that it would fit the 2022.
Unfortunately, from the box, no it doesn't. The problem is that with the retention block in place and the bottom quarter inch of the seude lining rubbing, the rail won't fit. (I think this holster is truely meant for a Sig Pro 2304/2009 and Safariland figured it would still fit even though the 2022 has a rail)
HOWEVER it can be made to fit beautifully with some minor changes. If you're willing to remove part of the suede lining (about a quarter inch wide strip an inch and a half long) with an X-Acto knife where the rail fits and remove the retention block (you won't need it with how it fits anyways) the gun fits beautifully in the holster and BOTH locking systems work flawlessly as designed. The modifications take about fifteen minutes and anyone with any mechanical skill could make them.
Other than that I have no complaints. The ALS ejection port lock and SLS hood lock are very secure, and the ALS lock is removable with one screw to make it a Level 2 holster. The seude lining does hold the gun in place under torsion even with both locks disabled to prevent anyone from taking your gun.

BOTTOM LINE: From the box, yes, 100% of people will be disappointed that this holster will not fit a 2022 perfectly. But if you're willing to do a few simple, quick modifications, you will undoubtedly be more than satisfied with this holster for duty or personal use. Three stars for the fact it doesn't fit from the factory, but still a great holster once modified.
