This is a well built stem with an aluminum base covered in carbon fiber which doesn't appear to add any rigidity and is probably just for looks. Clamp screws appear to be stainless and I used loctite during installation to ensure they don't work free. Clamps worked just fine for my road bike steerer tube and carbon handle.
