This is the updated version of New Balance's 10v1 Minimalist shoes. Note that they also updated their 20v1 line (to the 20v2) - the 10 vs 20 does *not* mean anything other than a slightly different design (mostly of the tongue) - the 20 isn't necessarily better than the 10, or vice versa. I personally prefer the 10's design, though, and in general the 10 seems to be far more popular.

In the 10v2 design, they changed the strap that goes over the top of the foot to relieve stress on the shoe that caused it to bend a bit weird in the 10v1. So far, these are extremely comfortable. I'm wearing them to work, just to get used to them. The all-black version can be paired with jeans, etc., and you won't look like a crazy person.

Note that these are minimalist shoes. If you aren't familiar with what that means, make sure you read about it before ordering! Running with these if you don't know exactly what minimalist running is, and how to do it, could lead to injury.
